How to Increase the Chance of Behavior Happening

Through our diligence and research of behavioral science, we found four standout features that drastically improve the odds of a behavior happening. These became key pillars in the formation of Activity Loops.

Pledge

At the start of each Activity Loop, patients are required to make a pledge. It’s a promise to themselves that they will, to the best of their ability, complete their loop and hit their goal. This step alone boosts chances of success by 13%. It also reinforces their intrinsic motivation to succeed. People have an inherent desire to see themselves as consistent, making this a crucial first step in setting up their Loop.

Notifications

Notifications are a game-changing feature of Activity Loops. The hardest part of staying on track is remembering to do your task, so we removed the need for remembering entirely. Notifications automatically ping your patients’ phones when it's time to check-in, increasing their chances of success by 25%. Your team is also able to reach your patients by way of sending a nudge, which shows up as a notification.

Activity Tracker

There’s a reason why phrases  “you’re on a roll!” and  “winning streak!”  exist! They highlight the innate excitement of continued success. The activity tracker within Activity Loops is its star feature. Not only does it serve as a log  for patient’s daily check-ins, it’s also peppered with exciting moments of surprise and delight. Streaks are celebrated, confetti fills the screen, and words of encouragement and motivation help keep the experience fun and fresh.

Accountability Partner

Having an accountability partner makes you 95% more likely to complete a task. Not only do you feel a sense of obligation to your partner, but you are both intrinsically motivated to get to the finish line. With Activity Loops, your team members become these partners for your patients. Through timely nudges and personalized messages, your team becomes a source of motivation and helps hold your patients accountable for hitting their goals. Not only does this boost your patient’s chance of success, it also deepens the connection between your practice and your patients.
